This study explores the potential of tourism development as an alternative socio-economic path for post-mining areas in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. For decades, the region has relied on tin mining, but it now faces serious environmental damage and a pressing need for sustainable development. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through literature study, this research analyzes secondary data from academic journals, media, and official documents. The findings indicate that Bangka Belitung holds significant potential for nature and cultural tourism, supported by its strategic location between Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Java, and by the presence of Hanandjoeddin International Airport. However, success requires integrated strategies involving policy reform, community readiness, and sustainable environmental management.
