Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises are key drivers of the national economy; however, many Small and Medium Enterprises in Samirono Village still operate without formal business documentation, such as a Business Identification Number (NIB). This lack of legal status limits their access to financing, halal certification, PIRT registration, and product promotion opportunities. Low digital literacy and the absence of technical guidance further exacerbate these challenges. To address this issue, the KKN KSEI UIN Salatiga team organized a mentoring program on March 22, 2025, at Samirono Village Hall, aiming to assist Small and Medium Enterprises in obtaining legal recognition and navigating the Online Single Submission (OSS) system. The program successfully facilitated the issuance of NIBs for four Small and Medium Enterprises through direct technical assistance. The results highlight that hands-on education and mentoring are effective in transforming Small and Medium Enterprises from the informal to the formal sector. Sustained collaboration between village authorities, universities, and relevant institutions is essential to ensure the long-term development and competitiveness of Small and Medium Enterprises.
